School projects
Due to the new educational model "Tec 21" of the Tecnológico de Monterrey I was able to gain experience carrying out different projects with "Training Partner" companies. The projects sought to satisfy a need of the training partner companies related to the topics we learned in class. The projects competed within the same campus, to later go on to a national or regional competition, in which they were presented to directors or managers of the company, who chose the winner and considered the implementation of the project.
Training Companies
Projects were created for Coppel; Friza; Cuprum; Caba Meat & food; Actinver; Hey Banco; Femsa (National Winner); Bafar; Vector (National Finalist); Detecno.; Fitch Ratings (National Finalist); Afore InverCap (National Winner); Banco Base.
Next I will explain the projects in which I had an outstanding participation.

Creation of an investment portfolio for a basic SIEFORE 70-74, InverCap (National Winner)
This project consisted of creating an investment portfolio for InverCap clients born between 1970 and 1974 in which the Black-Litterman optimization model was used, as well as expected macroeconomic assumptions to determine the weighting of each asset class. In addition, passive and active management was established for domestic and international equities, and all the assets selected for the latter were justified. It is important to mention that the portfolio complied with the requirements established by CONSAR.
Creation of a Social Project, Fitch Ratings ESG (National Finalist)
We proposed the creation of "Agranelo", a social project with the purpose of facilitating access to a balanced and nutritious diet in low-income communities in the metropolitan area of Nuevo Leon. The viability of the project was tested through the elaboration of cash flows, which we used to obtain the Internal Rate of Return, the Immediate Profitability Rate, the Payback of the project and the Net Present Value. In addition, base, pessimistic and optimistic scenarios were projected, as well as the behavior of the cash flows in case of acquiring debt.

Creation of a Structured Note, VECTOR (National Finalist)
My team and I created an alternative investment instrument named structured note that guarantees the client the initial amount invested in a term of 2 years. We achieved this by investing in a 2-year Mexican Zero-Coupon Bond and investing the remaining amount in a derivative strategy called “Synthetic Iron Condor” with the underlying asset being the "IDB INDEXAMERICA 50 STABILITY EXCESS RETURN INDEX" of our training partner VECTOR.
Financing proposal, FEMSA (National Winner)
FEMSA's capital structure was analyzed, and a proposal was made to issue an amount of debt and repurchase a specific number of shares in order to lower the WACC and increase shareholder value without affecting the company's rating on a hedge basis.
